MP Police crackdown on narcotics

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Police have intensified their campaign against the trafficking, storage and sale of illegal narcotic substances, carrying out sustained and effective operations across the state. Over the past three days, police teams in several districts acted swiftly on specific intelligence, arresting multiple accused persons and seizing narcotic substances valued at more than Rs 24 lakh.

In Jabalpur, a joint team of the Crime Branch and Madhotal police arrested a smuggler and recovered 41.35 grams of smack worth Rs 8.27 lakh, along with two mobile phones and an unregistered scooter. In Shivpuri’s Bairad police station area, an accused was apprehended with 15 grams of smack valued at Rs 5 lakh.

In Chhatarpur, police recovered around 27 kg of ganja worth Rs 5 lakh during a house search conducted by Ghuwara outpost and Orchha Road police. Vidisha Kotwali police arrested three persons with 25 grams of brown sugar and a motorcycle, with the seized material valued at Rs 3.30 lakh. Similar actions were reported from Datia, Khargone and Damoh, where smack and ganja were recovered and accused arrested under the NDPS Act.

The police said strict action would continue against all those involved in the narcotics trade and urged citizens to report any such activities to the nearest police station or control room.
