Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Police have intensified their crackdown on cyber crimes, demonstrating sustained vigilance and technical expertise to counter evolving online frauds across the state. Over the past week, swift and effective action was taken in multiple districts against fake trading applications, “digital arrest” scams, Telegram-based task frauds and online investment rackets, leading to arrests and prevention of significant financial losses to citizens.

In Bhopal, police unearthed an organised gang operating a fake trading platform named “Falcon Traders”. A bogus call centre running from Sky Corporate Park in Indore’s Vijay Nagar area was raided, resulting in the arrest of 20 accused, including 10 men and 10 women. The gang lured investors by showing initial profits through fake apps and websites before disappearing. Large quantities of digital devices, banking documents and cash were seized.

In Burhanpur, the cyber cell ensured the safe refund of Rs 8.7 lakh to a victim of forex trading fraud through prompt coordination with banks. In Ujjain, timely police intervention saved an elderly couple from a “digital arrest” scam, while in Betul, investigations are underway in a Rs 23.5 lakh fraud case involving an 80-year-old man. These actions underline the police force’s proactive and coordinated approach to combating cyber crime.
