Bhopal: Under its zero-tolerance policy to strengthen law and order, Madhya Pradesh Police have achieved a major breakthrough by cracking two high-profile crimes in Vidisha and Khargone within the past 48 hours, recovering property worth nearly Rs 1.90 crore.

In Vidisha, police solved a sensational dacoity case reported from Raikhedi village under Tyonda police station limits. Four main accused and a juvenile in conflict with law were arrested, leading to the recovery of 44 tolas of gold, 1.3 kg of silver, Rs 10 lakh cash, five mobile phones, a motorcycle, a country-made pistol (.315 bore) and a sword, valued at around Rs 1 crore. The alertness and swift response of the Dial-112 unit in Rahatgarh, Sagar district, proved crucial, providing key leads that helped trace the entire gang after one accused was caught fleeing with stolen property. Police analysed over 300 CCTV cameras and scientific evidence to crack the case.

In Khargone, Barwaha police arrested two accused and a juvenile involved in thefts targeting locked houses and shops. Stolen goods worth about Rs 90 lakh, including gold and silver bars, jewellery and cash, were recovered.

Police have urged citizens to promptly report suspicious activities to Dial-112 or nearby police stations.
