Principal Secretary Umakanth Umrao held review meeting
Bhopal, October 11: Madhya Pradesh has completed the first phase of its ambitious “Dugdha Samriddhi Sampark Abhiyan” (Milk Prosperity Contact Campaign), launched on October 2nd to achieve Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s goal of more than doubling the state’s milk production.
The campaign saw officials and field staff go door-to-door, contacting nearly 3.7 lakh livestock owners who rear ten or more cattle or buffalo. The focus was on providing technical and practical knowledge to increase profitability through better dairy practices. Farmers were educated on low-cost methods for breed improvement, artificial insemination, vaccination, balanced animal nutrition, and overall health management.
Principal Secretary for Animal Husbandry and Dairy, Umakanth Umrao, chaired a meeting today to review the campaign’s progress. He issued necessary instructions for implementing suggestions received during the first phase and directed officials to prepare for the second phase. The core objective remains improving the income of livestock owners by significantly boosting milk output. The campaign also saw active participation from Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and district officials, who met with farmers to share knowledge and successful practices.
