MP government to auction 53 obsolete official vehicles

Bhopal – The Madhya Pradesh government is set to auction off 53 old, damaged, and decommissioned vehicles that were once used by ministers and senior officials. These include various models such as Safari, Innova, and Indigo, many of which are either accident-damaged or have exceeded their operational lifespan.

The vehicles will be sold through a public e-auction, with the bidding process open from May 6 to May 27. Interested individuals and institutions can submit their online bids during this period.

According to the State Garage Superintendent, most of these vehicles have clocked over 250,000 kilometers and are no longer cost-effective to maintain. The auction includes:

* 9 Safari Storme SUVs
* 28 Safari VX models
* 6 Innova MPVs
* 9 Innova Crysta MPVs
* 1 Indigo Manza sedan

These vehicles, once allocated to government ministers, are now parked at the state garage awaiting new owners.

The auction will follow a two-step process:
* Technical bids will be opened on May 30
* Financial bids will be reviewed afterward, with the highest bidders securing the vehicles.

This move aims to declutter the government fleet and recover value from vehicles that are no longer roadworthy or financially viable to repair.
