- Through NCEL partnership
Cooperative Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang announced that the formation of the National Cooperative Export Limited (NCEL) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah aims to strengthen the cooperative movement and ensure better returns for farmers. Addressing a state-level workshop in Bhopal on Friday, he emphasized that the initiative will boost exports of agricultural and handicraft products from Madhya Pradesh. A significant MoU was signed between the Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Federation, Agriculture Mandi Board, and NCEL to institutionalize spice exports.
Minister Sarang stated that 1,578 societies from Madhya Pradesh have joined NCEL, which will enable farmers to access international markets and receive fair prices. He added that this would strengthen the cooperative sector and make Madhya Pradesh a leading agricultural exporter.
Agriculture Minister Andal Singh Kanshana highlighted that cooperation is vital for agricultural progress, noting that Madhya Pradesh has won the Krishi Karman Award seven times.
Additional Chief Secretary Ashok Varnbal said that farmers will benefit from delivering produce based on international demand. NCEL MD Anupam Kaushik assured that Madhya Pradesh’s products will now reach global markets.
The event, held under the International Cooperative Year celebrations, also included a seminar for farmers on export readiness.
