MP Driving PM Shri Modi’s Drug-Free India Mission a Success: CM Yadav

  • Inaugurates and Lays Foundation Stones Virtually for Projects Worth ₹60 Crore in Barwani
Bhopal, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has taken a pledge through the Drug-Free India Campaign to rid people of addiction. In line with the Prime Minister’s pledge, the Drug De-addiction Campaign is being effectively implemented in Madhya Pradesh. Sale and operation of liquor shops and bars have been banned in 19 religious towns and rural areas of the state. Additionally, liquor shop enclosures that pose a threat to women’s safety and social harmony will be closed. Madhya Pradesh is among the leading states in implementing the Drug-Free India Campaign.

On Monday night, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for construction works worth ₹60 crore in Barwani district from the Chief Minister’s residence. These include two major development projects worth ₹23 crore, a high-level bridge over the Goi River in village Pati costing ₹19 crore, and a Tribal Senior Excellence Boys Hostel in Pati built at a cost of ₹4 crore. Besides this, he laid the foundation stones for seven development works worth ₹37 crore, including the upgradation of the Silawad–Pati road.

CM Dr. Yadav said that the *Shivpanth Satsang Mela* in Barwani is an important spiritual and cultural event of the tribal community, symbolising the Guru–Shishya tradition, spiritual heritage and social awareness. With the participation of the Shivpanth community, significant work is being done in the fields of de-addiction and education. The community is also devoted to the protection of nature. The de-addiction campaign is being actively carried out in tribal areas by engaging youth and women, with several spiritual leaders from Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra contributing through satsangs and de-addiction camps.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that collaboration between the government and society makes even the seemingly impossible possible. He said that this campaign plays a vital role in preparing future generations for a meaningful and purposeful life.

At the beginning of the event, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav extended greetings to saints including Surekhanand Ji Maharaj and Pahad Singh Bapu Ji. The program was attended by Minister-in-Charge Shri Gautam Tetwal, Members of Parliament Shri Gajendra Singh Patel and Shri Sumer Singh Solanki, National President of the Tribal Commission Shri Antarsingh Arya, Shri Ajay Yadav, Shri Prem Singh Patel, and others.
