New Delhi, Mortal remains of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit were taken from her residence in Nizamuddin to Congress Headquarters on Sunday. The mortal remains were kept at her residence at B 2 Nizamuddin East New Delhi. The last rites will take place on Sunday at 1430 hrs at Nigam Bodh Ghat. Earlier at her residence, veteran BJP leader LK Advani paid tribute to the former Delhi Chief Minister, who passed away on Saturday after a protracted illness.
Former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also paid tribute to the departed Congress leader. The 81-year-old icon of the Congress, who had been keeping ill for a long time, was admitted to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, Okhla, New Delhi, in a critical condition with cardiac arrest. The end came at 1555 hrs after a second heart attack. The Aam Aadmi Party-led Government declared a two-day mourning in Delhi in her memory. Dikshit served as Chief Minister of Delhi from 1998 to 2013 for three consecutive terms.
