New Delhi, March 16 (UNI) Senior Trinamool Congress leader Derek O’Brien on Monday said the governance record of the West Bengal government is among the key reasons why Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is headed for a “resounding victory” and a fourth consecutive term in office.
In the latest installment of his social media video series Morning Walk, titled Morning Walk #24, the Rajya Sabha MP shared a one-minute clip highlighting what he described as one of the many factors behind the Trinamool Congress government’s continued public support in the state.
“One of the many, many reasons why the Chief Minister of West Bengal is headed for a resounding victory and a fourth consecutive term,” O’Brien said while introducing the episode and urging viewers to watch the short video.
The “Morning Walk” series, launched earlier this year, forms part of the party’s digital outreach campaign ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in the state. In the videos, O’Brien presents short, data-driven explanations on governance indicators and achievements under Banerjee’s leadership.
According to O’Brien, the series aims to place facts and figures before the public while countering opposition narratives about the state government’s performance. “Mamata Banerjee all set for fourth term. Some reasons why,” he said while launching the campaign, adding that the videos would focus on measurable indicators related to development and governance.
The Trinamool Congress has repeatedly highlighted economic growth, welfare programmes and administrative continuity under Banerjee’s leadership since she first came to power in 2011. Party leaders argue that these factors have contributed to sustained public support and strengthened the party’s electoral prospects.
Political observers note that the short-format “Morning Walk” videos are designed to reach voters through social media platforms and messaging apps, particularly younger audiences. Each episode focuses on a single theme—such as economic performance, investment, or governance indicators—to reinforce the party’s campaign narrative ahead of the elections.
With the political contest in West Bengal expected to intensify with the state scheduled to have assembly polls in two phases on April 23 and 29, O’Brien’s video series is likely to remain a key component of the Trinamool Congress’s online campaign strategy as it seeks another mandate under Banerjee’s leadership.
