Bhopal: More than 11 IndiGo flights have been cancelled in Madhya Pradesh. The terminal manager at Indore Airport stated that 4-5 flights to and from Indore have been cancelled due to crew issues. Some flights are also running late.
He stated that more than 70 IndiGo flights operating across the country were cancelled on Wednesday due to a crew shortage.
Meanwhile, IndiGo confirmed, “We have experienced delays and cancellations over the past few days due to various unavoidable reasons. These include technical issues, airport congestion, and operational requirements.”
According to sources, this situation has arisen after the implementation of the second phase of the new FDTL (Flight Duty Time Limitation) rules. The flight cancellation and delay crisis began on Tuesday and worsened across the country on Wednesday.
IndiGo flight cancellations and delays have hit smaller airports in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Gujarat the hardest.
According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s website, IndiGo’s on-time performance (OTP) at six major domestic airports across the country on Tuesday was just 35%.
