- Intermittent showers lash Bhopal, weather turns cool
Bhopal: The southwest monsoon reached Madhya Pradesh on Friday, June 21, after remaining stuck for 10 days. Monsoon arrived in Madhya Pradesh via Dindori. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon has also reached parts of Maharashtra-Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Jharkhand.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in 14 districts of Madhya Pradesh including Bhopal-Indore. At the same time, Delhi, which has been facing 43°-45° temperature for the last few days, also received rain and winds blew at a speed of 30-50 km per hour.
IMD also said that till now (from 1 to 20 June) 77 mm of rainfall has occurred in the country. This is 17% less than the rainfall during this period. From 1 to 20 June, 92.8 mm of rain occurs in the country.
