Mobile thief jumps from moving train at outer signal

Bhopal – In a testament to heightened vigilance, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel at Bhopal railway station successfully nabbed a suspected mobile thief in the early hours of June 5, 2025. The swift action underscores the RPF’s commitment to passenger safety within the Bhopal Division.

At approximately 4:00 AM, while on crime prevention duty at the Itarsi side outer area of Bhopal station, Head Constable Yogendra Sharma and Constable Lalit Vishwakarma observed a suspicious individual disembarking from the slowly moving Kerala Express (Train No. 12625) with a backpack. Their immediate intervention led to the apprehension of the suspect, identified as Nitesh, 40, from Indore.

A search of Nitesh’s bag revealed two mobile phones. One, a Realme phone estimated at Rs 15,000, was password-locked.

The accused has been handed over to GRP Bhopal, and a case has been registered under Section 305(C) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Railway authorities urge passengers to remain vigilant with their belongings and report any suspicious activity. The Bhopal Division remains dedicated to ensuring passenger safety and will continue to take stringent action against such offenders.
