- Slams school for negligence

Bhopal: State Minister for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare (Independent Charge), Mrs. Krishna Gaur, conducted a surprise inspection of PM Maharani Laxmibai School located in Barkheda under the Govindpura Assembly constituency. The visit followed a serious incident where a portion of the school roof’s plaster fell, injuring a Class 10 student, Sanjana Giri.
Mrs. Gaur met Sanjana at her home to check on her condition and inquired about her medical treatment. Sanjana, who sustained a head injury, informed the Minister that she had received stitches as a result of the accident. Expressing strong displeasure, the Minister criticized the school management, stating that the accident was a direct result of their negligence. “Had the deteriorating condition of the roof been reported earlier, this incident could have been prevented,” she said. “The government has sufficient budget provisions, but the failure to communicate issues is unacceptable.”
She immediately directed officials to arrange for Sanjana’s CT scan and ensure no lapses in medical care. Regular monitoring of her stitches was also instructed, especially during the rainy season.
Additionally, the Minister stressed the importance of providing bicycles to girl students. If Sanjana is having difficulty walking, the Minister advised applying to the Collector for a three-wheeler and seeking financial assistance.
