Miller, Jansen return as SA name squads for Eng tour

Johannesburg, Aug 23 (UNI) South Africa today announced their white-ball squads for the upcoming tour of England, with the return of seasoned batsman David Miller and allrounder Marco Jansen providing a major boost to the Proteas’ campaign.

Miller, who last featured in the T20I setup during the home series against Pakistan in 2024, is back in the fold after his valiant century in South Africa’s semifinal defeat against New Zealand at the ICC Champions Trophy earlier this year.

Jansen, meanwhile, makes a comeback to the T20I side after missing the series against Australia.

Pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada, who sat out of the ongoing ODI series in Australia due to an ankle injury, has also been named in both ODI and T20I squads.

The Proteas will face England in a six-match white-ball tour comprising three ODIs and three T20Is, starting September 2 at Headingley. The tour serves as a vital build-up for next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

South Africa recently clinched the ODI series against Australia, having narrowly lost the T20I leg 2-1.
