- Fog envelops state capital and many other areas in MP
Bhopal: Due to western disturbance and cyclonic circulation being active, there was rain and hailstorm in the state for two days. Now the rain has stopped. Day and night temperatures have started falling. On Sunday-Monday night, Neemuch was the coldest in the state, its minimum temperature was recorded at 3.5 degrees. While Rajgarh recorded 5.4 degrees, Shivpuri 5.5 degrees, Shajapur and Guna recorded 7.2 degrees. Minimum temperatures of big cities have fallen. The minimum temperature of the capital Bhopal was recorded at 10.4 degrees, Indore 13.2 degrees, Jabalpur 13.5 degrees, Gwalior 11.1 degrees Celsius. On Monday, cold wind blew during the day due to which the maximum temperature of the day also saw a fall, Tikamgarh and Navgaon recorded 18 degrees, Gwalior, Sidhi and Rewa recorded maximum temperatures of 19.0 degrees. In Madhya Pradesh, the period of severe cold will start again from January 1, the first day of the new year 2025. The whole of MP will shiver due to icy winds. The maximum effect will be seen in Ujjain and Gwalior-Chambal. There will also be fog in these places on 30 and 31 December. Fog will also be seen in Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol, Sagar divisions.
Cold wave in the New Year
According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of cold wave and cold day can remain for 20 to 22 days in January. In the first two days, the effect of cold wave will be seen in the districts of Gwalior, Chambal and Ujjain divisions. After this, the effect will increase in the entire state.
IMD prediction
On 31 December, there will be fog in Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Datia, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashoknagar, Neemuch and Mandsaur.
On 1 January, cold wave will prevail in Neemuch, Mandsaur, Agar-Malwa, Shajapur, Sheopur, Morena.
On 2 January, there is an alert of cold wave in Neemuch, Mandsaur, Agar-Malwa, Shajapur, Sheopur, Morena.
