Bhopal: Under the guidance of Director General of Police Kailash Makwana, a special yoga and meditation session was organised at the Police Officers’ Mess in Bhopal to promote mental balance, inner peace and positive energy among police personnel. The session was conducted by globally renowned spiritual guide Kamlesh Patel, popularly known as Daaji, of the Heartfulness Institute.

Addressing the gathering, Makwana said the initiative serves as an important step towards encouraging mental calmness and a balanced lifestyle. He noted that following the memorandum of understanding signed with the institute in February 2025, meditation and yoga activities have been widely implemented across police units in the state. Given the demanding 24-hour nature of police duty, the initiative has proven highly beneficial in relieving stress.

He highlighted that on World Meditation Day, more than 50,000 personnel participated across nearly 2,800 locations, marking a significant achievement. Positive outcomes are already visible, including increased energy levels, improved behaviour, stronger family relationships and reduced stress. Several personnel have also made commendable efforts to give up negative habits, particularly substance use.

Daaji explained that Heartfulness meditation focuses on elevating consciousness through subtle energy transmission and incorporates a “cleaning” process to remove emotional burdens and mental impressions. He emphasised that regular meditation enhances emotional stability, concentration, self-control and decision-making abilities—qualities essential for police work.

Senior officers, including Inspector General Ruchivardhan Mishra, were present at the event.
