Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Police have intensified their crackdown on illegal narcotics, seizing large quantities of MD drug-related chemicals, narcotic substances and equipment in two major operations conducted in Rajgarh and Mandsaur districts.

In Rajgarh district, Machalpur police recovered 266.9 kg of chemicals used in the manufacture of MD drugs, estimated to be worth around Rs 5 crore in the international market. Acting on a tip-off on February 7, the police raided a forested area near a farm pit in Adampura village, where five blue plastic drums containing white crystalline chemical powder were found hidden. Preliminary examination confirmed the material was used in MD drug production. The chemicals were seized under the NDPS Act, and an investigation has been launched to trace those involved and dismantle the wider trafficking network.

In a separate operation in Mandsaur district, police busted an illegal MD drug manufacturing unit in the Garoth police station area. Two accused were arrested from a well located at a farm in Surjana village while they were allegedly producing MD drugs. The police seized 102 grams of MD drugs, large quantities of chemical mixtures, a centrifuge machine, gas cylinder, stove-furnace, utensils, electrical equipment and two mobile phones. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act.

The Madhya Pradesh Police reiterated their zero-tolerance policy against drug manufacturing, trafficking and distribution, stating that strict action will continue in the future.
