Activa hit by trolley in Bhopal’s Gandhi Nagar area

The Activa of three girl students doing MBBS from Gandhi Medical College (GMC) was hit by a trolley at 11.30 pm on Wednesday. A student died in the accident. Two girl students were seriously injured. Both have been admitted to Hamidia Hospital.
People caught the trolley driver and handed him over to the police. Police have also seized the trolley. The driver told the police that he had fallen asleep when the accident happened.
Dean of Gandhi Medical College, Dr. Salil Bhargava said that Gunjan, Nishita and Chhavi Singh, MBBS second year students of the college, were standing on the roadside near Rangla Punjab Dhaba in Gandhi Nagar area. The trolley passing through here hit all three. Gunjan died on the spot in the accident. Chhavi Singh alias Bittu and Nishita Katheria were seriously injured.
Gunjan’s father is chief manager in SBI
Gunjan, Nishita Katheria and Chhavi Singh got admission in MBBS through NEET UG counseling in 2021. Gunjan was a resident of Betul. His father Lokendra Sarankar is the Chief Manager of State Bank of India’s LHO office at Maida Mill Road, Bhopal.
Gunjan has a younger brother in the family, who is studying from Indore. After getting admission in MBBS, Gunjan was living in the hostel of Gandhi Medical College. Father Lokendra and his family live in Paras City, Arera Colony E-3.
Nishita is from Jabalpur and Chhavi from Bikaner, Rajasthan.
According to the records of the student branch of Gandhi Medical College, Nishita Katheria is a resident of the basement of Jabalpur. Chhavi Singh alias Bittu is from Banswara, Rajasthan. Pradeep Singh, father of student Chhavi Singh, who was injured in the accident, said that his daughter had left the hostel at night saying she was going to party with friends. Chhavi had given this information before leaving for the party from the Medical College Hostel. Pradeep Singh is an Inspector in Rajasthan Police. He told that he is originally from Bikaner. But, currently the posting is in Banswara.
