Mayawati declares nephew Akash Anand as heir apparent

Lucknow, Dec 10 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo on Sunday declared her nephew Akash Anand as her heir apparent, who will take up the reins of the party after her.

Mayawati made the announcement during an all India meeting of BSP to discuss preparations for the Lok Sabha election next year. The meeting was attended by a large number of national as well as state level office-bearers.

According to party sources except Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, 28-year-old Akash Anand will handle the party organisation in other states, specially in places where party organisation is weak. It may be noted that Akash Anand, who is son of Mayawati’s younger brother Anand Kumar, is already working as the National Coordinator of BSP.

Akash, who did his schooling from Gurugram, completed Masters in Business Management from London. He has been active in politics since 2017.
