- A Global Confluence of Hindi Language, Literature, Art, and Culture
Bhopal: The renowned Vishwarang festival is poised to celebrate its 6th edition in the vibrant landscape of Mauritius, from August 7 to 9, 2024. This significant cultural event is organized collaboratively by the World Hindi Secretariat, Mauritius, and Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal, aiming to honor and promote the global Hindi language, literature, art, and culture.
Santosh Choubey, Director of Vishwarang, expressed his elation, stating, “Vishwarang 2024 in Mauritius will be a landmark event that brings together the global Hindi community to celebrate and promote the rich heritage of Hindi language, literature, art, and culture. We are honored to collaborate with esteemed organizations and look forward to inspiring discussions, performances, and cultural exchanges. We inaugurated the International Hindi Centre at Rabindranath Tagore University during Vishwarang 2023. This year, we will focus on how Hindi can become a global language, create employment opportunities, and introduce innovative teaching methods. Additionally, we will present the Vishwarang Bhasha Samman 2024 to honor those who have significantly contributed to the Hindi language.”
Vishwarang 2024 is set to witness the participation of over 200 writers, artists, and educationists from more than 30 countries. The festival’s opening ceremony will be graced by the President of Mauritius, the Prime Minister of Mauritius, and the Deputy Prime Minister. This grand event is supported by distinguished organizations, including the Tagore International Hindi Center (India), Tagore World Art and Culture Center (India), Mahatma Gandhi Institute (Mauritius), Rabindranath Tagore Institute (Mauritius), Hindi Speaking Union (Mauritius), Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation, and Vanmali Srijan Peeth (India).
