Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav took part in the grand procession of Lord Mahakal with his family on the final Monday of the Sawan month. They offered prayers in the Sabhamandap of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, with the puja conducted by Pandit Ghanshyam Sharma and Ashish Pujari. Dr. Yadav, walking barefoot along the entire procession route, engaged in the worship of Baba Mahakal, singing bhajans and kirtans throughout the journey.
On this occasion, State President and MP Shri Vishnudatt Sharma, Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment Minister and in-charge of Ujjain district Shri Gautam Tetwal, Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Education Shri Narendra Shivaji Patel, MP Shri Anil Firoziya, MLA Shri Anil Jain Kaluhera, MLA Shri Satish Malviya, Mayor Shri Mukesh Tatwal, Municipal Corporation Chairman Smt. Kalavati Yadav, public representatives and officials also participated in the Sawari and offered prayers to Baba Mahakal.
CRPF and Police Bands’ Joint Performance Captivates the Audience
At the initiative of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the CRPF band made its debut performance during the Mahakal Sawari. The combined melodies of the CRPF and Police bands added to the grandeur of the procession. They delivered a joint performance at Ramghat on the banks of the Kshipra River, captivating devotees with their rendition of Shiva bhajans and aarti.
Tribal Groups Showcase Impressive Sela Karma Dance Performance
The tribal groups from Dindori district showcased a distinctive blend of art and culture during the Baba Mahakal Sawari. Their performance featured traditional musical instruments such as the Madal, Timki, flute, Manjira, and Chatkola. Artists from various tribal regions of the state contributed to the vibrant display, adding a unique touch to the Mahakal procession.
Jalabhishek of Lord Mahakal at Ramghat
A huge crowd awaited the Sawari of Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar when it left the Mahakal temple and reached Ramghat. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav performed Jalabhishek of Baba Mahakal on the banks of the Kshipra. Prayers were offered and Jalabhishek of Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar was duly performed by Pt. Ashish Pujari. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also offered prayers to the Sawari at the Gopal Temple.
Devotees shower flowers with slogans of “Bhole Shambhu-Bholenath” and “Data Avantikanath ki Jai”
As soon as Lord Shri Mahakal’s sawari reached the main gate of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, the Armed Police Force personnel saluted Shri Chandramouleshwar sitting in the Sawari. Devotees standing at various places on the sawari route showered flowers on Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar raising slogans of Bhole Shambhu, Bhole Nath and Data Avantikanath. Attractive dances and bhajans were presented by various bhajan troupes during the sawari.
Thousands of devotees accompanied the sawari, playing Jhanjh, manjire, dhol and Lord Shiva’s Damru. The devotees were fortunate enough to have the darshan of the Lord. The Sawari of Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar reached Ramghat via the traditional route Mahakal Square, Gudri Square, Bakshi Bazaar and Kaharwadi, where Jal Abhishek was performed and prayers were offered with Kshipra water. The Sawari then passed through Ramanujkot, Modh Ki Dharamshala, Kartik Chowk Khati ka Mandir, Satyanarayan Temple, Dhaba Road, Tanki Chouraha, Chhatri Chowk, Gopal Temple, Patni Bazaar and Gudri Bazaar and again reached Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple.
Dr. Yadav’s Inspiration and Initiative Elevate the Glory of Lord Mahakaleshwar procession
This year, each Lord Mahakaleshwar procession during the Sawan month has been uniquely captivating. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav introduced distinctive elements to enhance the grandeur of the procession, resulting in a notable increase in devotees from across the state, country, and abroad. A highlight of the final Sawari of the month was the debut participation of the CRPF band. Additionally, at the invitation of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai visited Lord Mahakaleshwar on Monday.
After Dr. Mohan Yadav became the Chief Minister, the grandeur of Lord Mahakaleshwar’s procession has increased further. First, the attractive presentation of the grand police band and then creating a world record for playing Damru simultaneously is a unique initiative in itself. To enhance the grandeur of the ride, for the first time through the Tribal Folk Art and Language Development Academy, Madhya Pradesh Sanskriti Parishad, dances of tribal groups from different areas of the state have also become a part of the Sawan sawari this time, which has enhanced its grandeur and attraction. His presentation captivated the hearts of the devotees. In the ride, for the first time, mobile chariots were also introduced for easy darshan of Lord Mahakal, on which the devotees had darshan from the big screens installed in it.
