‘Mardaani 3’ promises edge-of-the-seat thriller, trailer reveals

New Delhi, Jan 12 (UNI) The much-anticipated trailer of Rani Mukerji-starrer ‘Mardaani 3’ has finally been unveiled, plunging audiences into a dark and gripping story centred on the disappearance of young girls.

The 3-minute-16-second trailer marks the return of Rani Mukerji as the bold and fearless police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy, who is seen racing against time to rescue victims trapped in a ruthless child-trafficking network.

The trailer opens on a grim note as Shivani confronts a sinister crime syndicate responsible for abducting multiple girls, pushing her to the edge in her relentless pursuit of justice.

As the investigation unfolds, Shivani encounters the merciless and powerful antagonist ‘Amma,’ who operates a beggar mafia that primarily exploits children. Driven by an unyielding determination to save the missing girls, Shivani is shown diving deeper into the criminal underworld, risking everything to protect innocent lives.

The trailer showcases intense performances, high-stakes confrontations, and emotionally charged moments. Rani Mukerji returns to her iconic role with renewed intensity, while actor Mallika Prasad steps in as the lead antagonist, Amma. Janaki Bodiwala, who previously appeared in Shaitaan, also plays a key role in the film.

‘Mardaani 3’ is written by Aayush Gupta and directed by Abhiraj Minwala, with Aditya Chopra producing the film under the Yash Raj Films banner. The makers have announced a revised release date, with the film now set to hit theatres earlier than planned on January 30, 2026.

According to an official release, the film follows a fast-paced narrative in which time is running out as a police officer hunts for missing girls. Rani Mukerji has earlier described Mardaani 3 as an “edge-of-the-seat thriller” that is “dark, deadly, and brutal.”

The makers have also teased a bloody and violent clash between Shivani’s unwavering goodness and the film’s sinister evil forces.

The release of ‘Mardaani 3’ also marks a special milestone, coinciding with Rani Mukerji’s 30 years in the Hindi film industry.
