- World Intellectual Property Day
Bhopal: To create awareness among teachers and students regarding intellectual property rights and its utility, Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology celebrated World Intellectual Property Day on 26 April at Sarojini Naidu Girls College, Government Kamala Nehru Girls Higher Secondary School, Orient School and The Iconic School.
As resource persons in the programme, Dr Ajay Choubey, Mr Shailendra Kasera gave in-depth information on various aspects of intellectual property such as copyright, patent and trademark. He explained with interesting examples how students can obtain patents through their innovations and original creations and can also earn financial benefits from it. Along with this, in his address, he highlighted the growing importance of innovation, research and intellectual property protection. He encouraged the students to contribute to the development of the country by preserving their imagination and creativity.
In the programme, the students understood the importance of intellectual property and pledged to innovate. The teachers including the principals of all the schools appreciated the efforts of the council and said that such programmes promote creativity and scientific outlook among the students. On this occasion, the Director General of the Council, Dr. Anil Kothari, stressed on registering the innovation as intellectual property and commercialising it.
