Paris, Aug 2 (UNI) Indian shooting star Manu Bhaker has once again proven her mettle at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
In an impressive display of skill and composure, Bhaker scored a remarkable 590-24x, securing her place in the women’s 25m pistol final. The young athlete ranked second in the qualification round, earning her a spot among the top eight competitors who will vie for the medals.
Bhaker’s performance was a testament to her precision and speed. She scored 294 points in the precision stage and followed up with an even more remarkable 296 in the rapid stage. With two bronze medals already under her belt from these Games, Bhaker is on the verge of making history.
If she wins another medal in the final, scheduled for tomorrow at 1:00 PM IST in Chateauroux, she will become the first Indian athlete to clinch three individual medals at a single Olympics. This achievement would also establish her as the most successful Indian shooter in Olympic history at just 22 years old.
In contrast, fellow Indian shooter Esha Singh finished 18th in the qualification round with a score of 581-17x, comprising 291 in the precision stage and 290 in the rapid. Unfortunately, Singh’s performance was not enough to advance her to the final.
The day’s standout performance came from Hungary’s Veronika Major, who topped the qualification round with an outstanding score of 592, equalling the Olympic qualification record.
As the final approaches, all eyes will be on Manu Bhaker, who stands on the brink of making Olympic history. The anticipation is palpable as India waits to see if Bhaker can bring home another medal.
The final promises to be a thrilling event, with Bhaker poised to potentially make a record-breaking achievement. Stay tuned for live updates and coverage of the women’s 25m pistol final at Paris 2024.
