MANIT researcher Kartikeya Mishra wins International Young Scientist Award

Bhopal: In a moment of immense pride for the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), researcher Kartikeya Mishra has been conferred with the prestigious “International Young Scientist Award” at the 13th International Science Congress (ISC-2025). The award, recognizing his “Best Oral Presentation,” was presented at Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

Currently pursuing his PhD under the guidance of Prof. H.L. Tiwari in the Civil Engineering Department, Kartikeya presented groundbreaking research on predicting Land Use and Land Cover (LULC) changes using machine learning. His study highlights the environmental strain caused by rapid urbanization and population growth, specifically the alarming depletion of green cover and vegetation due to infrastructure expansion.

Kartikeya’s machine learning models offer a vital glimpse into the future, providing tools for more sustainable urban planning and water resource management. By forecasting environmental shifts, his work aims to help policymakers create effective strategies for conservation and sustainable development. This international recognition underscores the high caliber of research being conducted at MANIT and its contribution to solving global environmental challenges.
