Manipur: Security forces arrest militants, seize heroin and ganja in multiple operations

Imphal, Sep 30 (UNI) Manipur Police and security forces intensified operations yesterday, resulting in the arrest of militants, drug traffickers, and an individual involved in extortion across several districts.
An active militant was arrested in Bishnupur district, and another was apprehended in Imphal West. Forces recovered two INSAS Light Machine Gun (LMG) magazines, two camouflage helmets, five BP plates, and four bulletproof (BP) vests from their possession.
In a separate operation in Kakching district, an individual was arrested from Paona Bazar for alleged extortion. Police seized a mobile handset and Rs 3,280 in cash.
Security forces also intercepted two residents of Ngari Raidulomai Village in Senapati district—T.S. Valleyrose and T.T. Doveine Worthingla—at Kwakta Terakhongshangbi, Bishnupur. They seized 11 soap cases containing approximately 161 grams of heroin powder.
Additionally, two passengers, Laishram Vikash and Nelson of Imphal West, were intercepted at Imphal Airport after their luggage was found to contain approximately 21.420 kilograms of contraband ganja.
