Bhopal/Mandsaur: Continuing its sustained crackdown on the illegal drug trade, the Madhya Pradesh Police have arrested two persons in Mandsaur district and seized MD drugs worth more than Rs 1.5 crore. The action was carried out by City Kotwali police under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar Meena, with supervision from Additional Superintendent of Police T.S. Singh Baghel and City Superintendent of Police Jitendra Singh Bhaskar, and led by Kotwali station in-charge Pushpendra Singh Rathore.
On February 1, police received specific information that Gulshair Khan Pathan, a resident of Devalji in Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan, was coming to Mandsaur to sell MD drugs to Nandkishore alias Nandu. Acting swiftly, the police team intercepted the suspects at the indicated location and detained both accused.
During the search, police recovered 1.5 kg of illegal MD drugs, estimated to be worth Rs 1.5 crore in the international market. Additionally, illegal poppy husk valued at Rs 7,000 and two motorcycles used in the crime were seized. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at City Kotwali police station, and further investigation is underway.
