Bhopal: On Monday night, a 22-year-old girl was critically injured in a knife attack by her former lover in the Kolar area of the capital. The victim, originally from Berasia and currently studying in Subhash Nagar, was rushed to a private hospital where she remains in critical condition.
The accused, identified as Sonu Sen, had recently been released on bail after being jailed for a molestation case filed by the victim. According to police station in-charge Sanjay Soni, the two had developed a romantic relationship after meeting at a salon in Bairasia, but their relationship soured following disputes that led the girl to file charges against him.
On the night of the attack, Sonu lured the girl to a secluded area near Curit Heights under the guise of wanting to talk. Following a heated argument around 8:30 PM, he allegedly attacked her with a knife. The police have since registered a case of attempted murder and are actively searching for the suspect, who is currently absconding. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to locate the accused.
