Man dies after fall from hospital roof in Nishatpura

Bhopal: A 42-year-old man died under suspicious circumstances after falling from the roof of a private hospital in the Nishatpura area. Police are investigating whether the incident was an accident or a suicide. The body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem on Monday.

According to TI Manoj Patwa, the police received information late Sunday night that a man had fallen from the fourth-floor roof of People’s Hospital. The injured man, identified as Randhir Dhakad, son of Vijay Dhakad and a resident of Bari in Bareilly, succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Randhir had been admitted to the hospital on November 13 for an eye operation, which was successfully completed the next day. Hospital staff informed police that he left his bed on his own and reached the rooftop, from where he fell under suspicious circumstances. No attendant or family member was with him at the time, as he had come alone for the surgery.

Following the incident, an FSL team inspected the site to gather evidence. TI Patwa stated that only after a detailed investigation will it be clear whether the fall was accidental or a case of suicide. The post-mortem was conducted on Monday, after which the body was handed over to the deceased’s family members.
