Kolkata, July 21 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee along with Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday vowed to end the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre and save the country from the clutches of alleged dictatorial and communal forces regime.
Addressing a mammoth rally at Esplanade to mark Martyrs’ Day remembering the death of 13 people in 1993 in the police firing of the CPI(M)-led Left Front government, both Banerjee and Yadav claimed that the BJP has formed govt at the Centre by intimidating people and misusing the government agencies.
Banerjee, who was also the TMC supremo and UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav vowed to end the BJP rule at the Centre to save the country from the clutches of alleged communal forces and dictatorial government.
” We are vanguards of the people of India,” Banerjee said and added pointing at Yadav that ” you go ahead and we will support you as the people of Uttar Pradesh voted you against the BJP. ”
Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav said “…The people of Bengal have fought against the BJP and left them behind, the same happened in Uttar Pradesh…The people sitting in the Govt in Delhi are in power only for a few days. ‘Woh sarkaar chalne wali nahi hai, woh sarkaar girne wali hai’.
Both the leaders echoed each other saying the Bharatiya Janata Party led NDA government at the Centre would not last long.
Banerjee also claimed that while the INDI Alliance got 51 percent votes, the NDA got only 46 percent in 2024 poll.
Bengal CM claimed that BJP is a minority government as it failed to secure a majority and forcefully formed a government by intimidating others, which some also meekly surrendered to the BJP.
Banerjee at the end of her speech also referred to the current situation of neighbouring Bangladesh and warned the people not to be provoked.
” Whatever is to be said it will be from the Indian government but if anyone knocks on our doors for assistance we can not refrain from that because of humanity,” Banerjee said.
Banerjee assured cooperation to all Bengal residents whose relatives are stuck in violence-hit Bangladesh.
Earlier TMC National Secretary Abhishek Banerjee accused the Centre of stopping the funds for the West Bengal government.
He also demanded the arrest of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the NEET scam.
” If our Minister Partha Chatterjee is arrested by the ED in the SSC scam then Dharmendra Pradhan also be arrested in the NEET scam”.Abhishek Banerjee said.
