Major fire breaks out at Dilli Haat near chhatarpur metro station, 40 shops gutted

New Delhi, March 15 (UNI) A major fire broke out during the early hours of Sunday at Dilli Haat in Ambedkar Colony near South Delhi’s Chhatarpur Metro Station, gutting around 40 shops.

According to a fire brigade official, they received a call about the incident at around 7:30 AM. The caller informed that a fire had broken out in the shops at Dilli Haat.

Initially, six fire tenders were rushed to the site to extinguish the blaze. Later, ten more units were sent to the spot. A local police team also reached the area to assist the firefighters, and the entire area was cordoned off.

The fire was brought under control by 9:10 AM.

“The fire affected around 40 small shops. Cooling operations are currently underway,” said a fire official.
