Major Aadhar Update Centres shut down in Bhopal

= Thousands stranded, forced to turn back

Bhopal: Residents seeking Aadhar card updates are facing significant inconvenience as two major service centres run by a private company on MP Nagar and Narmadapuram Road have been abruptly closed. The closures follow the expiration of the company’s contract after authorities enforced stricter regulations on several unauthorized centres citywide.

The two large centres, located near the Multi-Level Parking in MP Nagar and inside a mall on Narmadapuram Road, were crucial, serving nearly 1,500 people daily for corrections, updates, and other Aadhar-related services. Applicants are now being turned away, forcing them to search elsewhere for essential government services.

Aadhar service officials acknowledged the disruption but assured the public that a new company has been assigned the responsibility. A replacement centre is expected to open soon on Narmadapuram Road, opposite Bhopal University (BU), to address the backlog and resume essential services for the city’s residents.
