Madhya Pradesh proves Cheetahs can thrive in Asia: CM Mohan Yadav

Bhopal, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav proudly declared on Sunday that the recent birth of five cheetah cubs in Madhya Pradesh stands as living proof that cheetahs can not only survive but flourish in Asia.

In a statement celebrating the development, Dr. Yadav called the birth a “remarkable achievement” and a testament to the state’s dedication to wildlife conservation, sustainable tourism, and ecological balance. “With the arrival of five tiny new members to our cheetah family, Madhya Pradesh has shown the world that successful cheetah reintroduction in Asia is not only possible but thriving,” he said.

The five cubs were born to a five-year-old female cheetah named Nirva in Kuno National Park, located in the Sheopur district. Their birth is being hailed as a major milestone for India’s ambitious Cheetah Reintroduction Project, launched to revive the species after it went extinct in the country over 70 years ago.

Dr. Yadav had earlier shared the news on social media, calling the cubs “symbols of the project’s success and India’s rich biodiversity.” The event marks a significant leap forward in global conservation efforts and positions India as a leader in big cat rehabilitation.
