Madhya Pradesh conferred with 13 awards

Bhopal: On the basis of excellent work in the India Smart Cities Awards Contest-2022, 5 smart cities of Madhya Pradesh have received 13 awards in different categories. Madhya Pradesh has received the Best State Award. Indore tops in the National Smart City Award. In project awards, Smart City Indore has bagged 5 awards, Bhopal one, Jabalpur 2, Gwalior one and Sagar one.

Indore has got first place in Swachhata theme for Gobar Dhan Bio CNG Plant, in Urban Environment theme for Air Quality Improvement and Ahilya One with Vertical Garden and in Water theme for Saraswati and Kanh Life Line, Rainwater Harvesting and Rejuvenation of Lakes, Wells and Stepwells. Indore has got second place for river front development in built environment theme. Bhopal has secured second place for Sadar Manzil Restoration Project. In the economy theme, Jabalpur got top place for Start-up Incubation Centre and Indore got second place for Value Capture Financing. In Governance theme, Jabalpur has got third place for Implementation of 311 Application. In ICCC Business Model theme, Gwalior got third place for Intelligent Traffic Management System and on Mobility theme, Sagar got third place for Intelligent Traffic Management System Improving Road Safety. Indore has got second place in the Innovation Award category on Covid Innovative Theme for Covid-19 Responses-Multiple Initiatives.

MP creating new dimensions: Governor

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that Madhya Pradesh being declared the best state and its five cities getting 10 awards is making all of us proud. Madhya Pradesh is creating new dimensions of development. The new model of development, which has been created keeping in mind the needs of the future, is working to convert dreams into reality. An unprecedented experiment of inclusive development is being done here. He called upon the people of the state to unite and take a pledge to build a self-reliant city and Madhya Pradesh.

The people of the state deserve congratulations for this. Congratulations also to the award winning smart cities and their citizens. Madhya Pradesh is setting new milestones in the direction of development. In the Smart City Mission, work has been done to convert dreams into reality in the state. On Indore getting the Best Smart City Award, he said that Indore, the city of dreams and cleanliness, has become accustomed to being at the top in every phase. Whoever comes here, belongs to here. The people here accept everyone wholeheartedly. This would not have been possible without the co-operation of the citizens here. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the cleanliness mission. The entire country supported him. We also went from city to city in Madhya Pradesh and interacted with the citizens and made it a mass movement. This is the reason why today Madhya Pradesh has received the best state award.

Union Urban Development Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri said that Smart City Mission is a symbol of the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The pace of the mission is remarkable. Under this, 100 cities of the country were selected. Among them Indore which has been selected 6 times in cleanliness for the work done in waste management, carbon credit and development of public spaces under the Smart City Mission has become a model city for the entire country. Similarly, Madhya Pradesh has received the Best State award. The residents here deserve congratulations. He expressed hope that this mission will gain more momentum and there are plans to extend it to the rest of the country as well.
