New Delhi, Dec 19 (UNI) The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the day on Thursday after Opposition members created ruckus and disrupted the proceedings in both the houses and raised slogans against the government over the remarks by Home Minister Amit Shah on Dr B R Ambedkar.
Before the Lok Sabha re-convened at 2 pm, the Opposition members entered the house with pictures of Dr BR Ambedkar in their hands and raised slogans “Baba Saheb ka apmaan nahi sahega Hindustan”, “Amit Shah Maafi Maango” and Jai Bhim”.
The sloganeering continued and at 2 pm, presiding officer Dilip Saikia within minutes adjourned the House for the day, to meet at 11 am on Friday.
The Rajya Sabha too witnessed uproar by Opposition.
Amid the sloganeering by the Opposition, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar asked the Secretary General to read the message to the house.
The Secretary General read the message to the house amid sloganeering, “Sir with your kind permission, I rise to report that a detailed ruling by the Deputy Chairman on the Communication received on 10th December 2024 under Article 67(b) of the Constitution on the motion of no-confidence against the Vice President placed on the table of the Rajya Sabha”.
The Opposition continued creating ruckus. The Chairman adjourned the Rajya Sabha for the day to meet on Friday (20.12.24) at 11 am.
Earlier in the day, the proceedings of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha was disrupted due to ruckus by the Opposition members.
