Puducherry, Human Rights and Consumer Protection Society(HRCPS) here on Saturday urged the people to cast their vote for NOTA in the April 18 Lok Sabha election here.
Welcoming the decision for voting NOTA by over 15,000 employees and their families of different government corporations and boards who were without salary for several months, HRCPS General Secretary Muruganandam in a statement said the non-payment of salary to government employees began during the period of NR Congress Founder N Rangaswamy’s tenure as Chief Minister and continuing till now.
Both the “samis”(Rangaswamy and Narayanasamy) are promising to get statehood, he said, adding that if statehood was granted to Puducherry, the situation will be worse with the Central government grant coming down and Puducherry losing Rs.500 crore getting from GST.
He said it is learnt that about 30,000 people have decided to vote for NOTA. If 35 percent of the total votes polled went to NOTA, the election will be cancelled and the contestants could not contest in election for the next six years, he added.
Hence, a proper lesson should be taught to both the ‘Samis’and bring them on the right path by voting for NOTA, Mr Muruganandam said.
