Live without expectations to find true happiness: Muni Shri

Bhopal: During his spiritual discourse in the ongoing Chaturmas, Jain Muni Shri Praman Sagar Maharaj spoke on the emotional turmoil of human life, calling “sadness” a mental illness caused by unawareness of eternal truths. He remarked that life is a constant cycle of joy and sorrow, and the wise remain unaffected by gain or loss, knowing that everything in this world is temporary.

He emphasized that true happiness lies in living without expectations. “If you expect nothing, you will never be disappointed. The greater the excitement in expectation, the deeper the pain when it breaks,” he said. He urged people to detach from worldly possessions and relationships, as deep attachment inevitably leads to suffering.

Muni Shri explained that nothing is permanent in this world—everything is momentary and perishable. He stated that one should believe in the principle of karma and accept whatever comes as sufficient. “Living with the awareness of truth and detachment is the real key to happiness,” he concluded.

This message was conveyed by Munisandh’s spokesperson, Avinash Jain Vidyavani.
