New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) A Delhi Court on Saturday directed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to supply the un-relied documents and statements of witnesses to Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, her daughters, Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav and others in the Railways land-for-job scam.
Special MP/MLAs case Judge Vishal Gogne after hearing said, “It is submitted on behalf of the accused persons that inspection of the bulky record including 10,000 pages of documents is still underway and shall probably require two more weeks.
The Ld. Counsel for the ED has rather filed the list of un-relied documents and statements of witnesses. Let a copy of the same be provided to the accused persons”.
Put up for further proceedings on 30.11.2024, the court said.
Government Counsel for Enforcement Directorate (ED) while filing the reply to the applications for regular bail had submitted earlier that the allegations involving money laundering are grievous in nature against the accused persons.
The Special court after hearing on February 28 had allowed the regular bail application of Accused No.2 Smt. Rabri Devi, Accused No.5 Smt. Misha Bharti, Accused No.6 Smt. Hema Yadav, Accused No.7 Hridyanand Chaudhary and others by levelling the certain conditions.
Enforcement Directorate (ED) after investigation under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering (PMLA) had filed a chargesheet in the case against the accused persons.
It may be noted that between 2004 and 2009, individuals were appointed to Group “D” positions within various zones of the Indian Railways, allegedly in exchange for transferring their land as bribes to the family members of the then Railway Minister and a company named A K Infosystems Private Limited.
