- Thieves took away gold, silver, cash and a diamond ring; incident in
Bhopal: The empty house of the retired assistant registrar who had gone to his ancestral home to mourn his mother was targeted by thieves. The thieves broke the lock of his house in Ashoka Garden police station area and fled with precious gold and silver jewellery and cash. A diamond ring was also among the stolen jewellery.
According to the police, the mother of retired assistant registrar Sushil Kumar Jain from Sales Tax Appeal Court had died on April 17. Due to this, he had gone to his ancestral village Raisen with his family. When he returned on the night of April 20, the lock of the main door was found broken. On entering the house, the items in the rooms were scattered and the precious jewellery and cash kept in the cupboard were missing.
The stolen items include three gold rings, a diamond studded gents ring, other jewellery and cash. It is estimated that the thief took away goods worth lakhs of rupees.
Thief was caught in CCTV
This incident has been carried out by a single thief. In the CCTV footage, a masked youth is seen jumping over the wall of the house and entering and coming out after about one and a half hours. This incident is said to have happened on the night of April 18 at around 3 o’clock.
On the basis of the footage, the police have started identifying the suspect. Ashoka Garden police station in-charge says that a case has been registered and the accused will be caught soon.
