- A Rakhi gift for a crore sisters
Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh – In a significant gesture for Raksha Bandhan, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is set to transfer a special gift to over 1.26 crore women under the Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana. At a state-level event in Narsinghgarh, Rajgarh district, on August 7th, beneficiaries will receive a total of ?1,500 each, a combination of their regular ?1,250 installment and a special ?250 “shagun” for the festival.
The transfer, amounting to over ?1,859 crore, underscores the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment. Beyond the cash transfer, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav will also disburse gas cylinder refill assistance to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and other registered women. The government plans to provide more than ?43.90 crore in a single click to over 28 lakh women for gas refills.
The day’s events will also include a roadshow, where the Chief Minister will engage with the public, reinforcing the government’s message of support and celebration. The initiative is being hailed as a major pre-Raksha Bandhan gift that will bring cheer to millions of households across the state.
