Bengaluru, Aug 10 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday escalated his offensive against opposition leaders, vowing to expose their alleged involvement in various scams.
Among those targeted by the Chief Minister are prominent figures such as former Chief Ministers H D Kumaraswamy and BS Yediyurappa, State BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa, and R Ashoka, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly.
In a fiery address during the Janandolana convention, organized by the Congress, Siddaramaiah pledged to bring to light the alleged wrongdoings of these leaders. “I will expose the opposition leaders and the scams in which they are allegedly involved,” he declared, emphasizing that any action taken would be based on the findings of formal inquiries.
Siddaramaiah’s remarks came as a direct response to the ongoing padayatra (foot march) conducted by the BJP and JDS, which he dismissed as a campaign built on falsehoods. “We (Congress) organised the Janandolana convention against their (opposition) padayatra,” he said.
“We have told the people that they are lying, they are doing the padayatra with false allegations. They are trying to create a black mark on Siddaramaiah’s image. They are trying to dislodge this government that has come to power with the blessings of the people.”
The padayatra, which has seen considerable participation from opposition leaders and supporters, is being portrayed by the opposition as a movement to highlight the alleged failures and corruption of the current Congress-led government. However, Siddaramaiah has countered these claims, asserting that the opposition is attempting to mislead the public with baseless accusations.
As the political tensions in the state continue to rise, all eyes will be on the developments that follow Siddaramaiah’s bold pronouncements. The Chief Minister’s promise to hold opposition leaders accountable could lead to significant repercussions, both for the individuals involved and the broader political landscape in Karnataka.
