KSCA poll: Prasad welcomes court order in favour of Shanthkumar

Bengaluru, Nov 29 (UNI) Former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad on Saturday welcomed the recent order of the Karnataka High Court, expressing his readiness to contest the upcoming Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) elections.

In a press statement, Prasad said, “With this clarity now in place, I am fully prepared to contest the upcoming KSCA elections.”

Prasad is set to contest the KSCA presidency against KN Shanthkumar, following the Karnataka High Court’s decision to clear Shanthkumar’s name for the elections. Earlier, the Election Officer had rejected Shanthkumar’s candidature over unpaid arrears.

He emphasised that his team, “Team Game Changers,” brings together respected international and national cricketers, seasoned administrators, and accomplished professionals.

The team is united in its commitment to restoring the prestige of Karnataka cricket and rejuvenating the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium, especially following the tragic stampede that deeply affected the cricketing community.

Prasad asserted that he has taken on the responsibility with “complete seriousness and dedication,” emphasising his focus on transparency, accountability, and excellence in KSCA administration.

Addressing rumours circulating about conflicts of interest and terms of office, Prasad described them as “mischievous, false, baseless, and deliberately misleading.”

He reiterated that his team’s priority is “winning this election and ushering in a much-needed positive change at KSCA.”

He concluded by appealing to all members to support those who uphold fairness, integrity, and the future of Karnataka cricket.

Prasad leads Team Game Changers, aiming to bring a transformative approach to KSCA administration.
