The discussion took place at a meeting convened by Congress president and Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge with the floor leaders of INDI Alliance in the Parliament House complex.
In the meeting, the Opposition leaders discussed the strategy in both houses of the Parliament.
Besides Kharge, leaders who attended the meeting included Jairam Ramesh, KC Venugopal, Pramod Tiwari, Manickam Tagore, Ramji Lal Suman, TR Baalu, Tiruchi Siva, Kanimozhi, Raghav Chadha, ET Mohammed Basheer and Vaiko.
Meanwhile, Kharge in a post on X said the India bloc demands that the government take up a detailed discussion on the Adani saga as the hard-earned money of crores of retail investors are at stake.
“As the Parliament session begins, the first step the government should take is to have a detailed discussion on the Adani saga which has the potential of tarnishing India’s image on the global stage,” Kharge said.
“This is what the INDIA bloc parties demand today, for the hard-earned investments of crores of retail investors are at stake,” the Rajya Sabha MP said.
He further added, “We do not need monopolies and cartels to run this country. We need healthy market-driven competition in the private sector, which facilitates equal opportunities, employment and equitable distribution of wealth, catering to the inherent entrepreneurial spirit of India”.
