Kharge asks PM Modi to sack Amit Shah from Cabinet before midnight today

New Delhi, Dec 18 (UNI) Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sack Home Minister Amit Shah from the Cabinet before midnight on Wednesday for his comments on BR Ambedkar while speaking during a debate on Constitution in Rajya Sabha yesterday.

Addressing a press conference at the AICC headquarters here, he lashed out at Modi for coming out in support of his Cabinet colleague.

“I am surprised that when a person is saying such derogatory things about Baba Saheb that also telecasted live on TV, the Prime Minister didn’t called him and said that what you said is wrong. On the contrary, he posted six tweets in support of Amit Shah”.

“Anyone who insults Ambedkarji should have been removed from the Cabinet,” Kharge said.

Accusing the BJP-RSS of disrespecting the Constitution, the Congress President said, “These people never accepted the Constitution and burnt its copies. They even burnt the pictures of Nehru and Ambedkar”.

“If a person becomes a Minister by taking oath on the Constitution and then insults it, he has no right to remain in the Cabinet,” Kharge said.

The leader of Oppsition in Rajya Sabha dared the PM that if “he has even a little respect for Baba Saheb then he should dismiss Amit Shah from his post before midnight”.

He warned that “if Amit Shah is not removed from the Cabinet, then there will be protest all over the country”.
