Kharge alleges massive cuts in scholarships for marginalised youth

New Delhi, Feb 25 (UNI) Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday accused the central government of “massive cuts” in scholarships for SC, ST, OBC, and minority youth and said that without adequate support, their progress would be hindered.

He alleged that the Modi government had not only made massive cuts in the number of beneficiaries but had also spent 25 percent less funds.

On social media platform X, Kharge said, “Your government has usurped the scholarships meant for SC, ST, OBC, and minority youth!”.

“These shameful statistics show that the Modi government has not only drastically reduced the beneficiaries in all scholarships but has also reduced the funds by an average of 25%, over the years!” he alleged.

He said that “until the students of the weaker sections get opportunities, their skills are not encouraged; how will we be able to increase jobs for the youth of our country?”

“Your slogan of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’ cruelly mocks the aspirations of the weaker sections every day!” he said.
