Kerala: Priyanka Gandhi crosses 3 lakh votes in Wayanad Lok Sabha by-poll

Wayanad (Kerala), Nov 23 (UNI) AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra was leading with 3,16,627 votes over her nearest rivals in the Wayanad Lok Sabha by-poll, at the end of the 10th round of counting on Saturday.

While, Youth Congress State President Rahul Mamkootathil was leading with 12,765 votes in Palakkad assembly by-poll and Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate U R Pradeep was leading with 11,362 votes in Chelakkara by-poll.

Rahul Mamkootathi was leading with 12,765 votes at the end of the 11th round, and three more rounds of counting are remaining in Palakkad by-poll. BJP suffered a setback in Palakkad, as their candidate BJP state secretary C Krishnadas, who had secured 34,743 votes in 2024 Lok Sabha polls from Palakkad Municipal area, the stronghold of BJP, lost in this election by over 2,200 votes from the same area.

In Chelakkara Assembly constituency, CPI(M)-led LDF candidate U R Pradeep was leading by more than 11,362 votes against Congress-led UDF candidate Ramya Haridas and BJP-led NDA candidate K Balakrishnan at the end of 12th round.

The LDF has started victory procession at Cheruthuruthy before announcement of the final result of election.
