Kerala GST: Amnesty Scheme-2025 to conclude on June 30

Thiruvananthapuram, June 25 (UNI) The Amnesty Scheme-2025, announced in the Kerala Budget for 2025-2026, will conclude on June 30.

The state government has introduced four types of amnesty schemes: General Amnesty Scheme 2025, Flood Cess Amnesty 2025, Amnesty for Bar Hotels 2025, and Distillery Arrears Settlement Scheme 2025.

The General Amnesty Scheme 2025 is a comprehensive arrear settlement scheme implemented to resolve outstanding dues related to tax laws that were in force prior to the implementation of the GST Act.

Under this scheme, taxpayers are eligible for a specified percentage reduction in the tax arrears and a complete waiver of penalties and interest.

Taxpayers must first remit the applicable tax amount through the e-Treasury portal (www.etreasury.kerala.gov.in) and then submit an online application, along with payment details and supporting challans, through the official website of the State GST Department (www.keralataxes.gov.in) by June 30, 2025.

Those with pending Flood Cess arrears for the period from August 2019 to July 2021 can avail the Flood Cess Amnesty 2025 by paying the arrears through the e-Treasury portal (www.etreasury.kerala.gov.in) before June 30, 2025 and informing the Assessing Authority. Under this scheme, full waivers of penalty and interest will be granted.

Bar hotel owners can clear their turnover tax arrears from the financial years 2005-06 to 2020-21 by paying the full turnover tax arrears, cess, and 50% of the interest through the e-Treasury portal (www.etreasury.kerala.gov.in).

After making the payment, the taxpayer must submit the e-challan and a physical (offline) application for amnesty to the concerned assessing authority by June 30, 2025. On doing so, the remaining interest and penalty will be completely waived.

The State GST Commissioner stated that taxpayers should make the maximum use of this amnesty opportunity. He also warned that strict recovery proceedings will be initiated against those who fail to settle their tax arrears even after this opportunity.
