Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 5 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the ‘Vision 2031’ International Conference on February 15, marking the beginning of a three-day deliberation in Thiruvananthapuram aimed at shaping Kerala’s future development vision as the State approaches 75 years of its formation in 2031.
The inaugural session, to be chaired by Revenue Minister K. Rajan, will feature addresses by Nobel laureate Amartya Sen, noted historian Romila Thapar, and World Food Prize laureate Shakuntala Thilsted, among other eminent personalities.
On February 16 and 17, technical sessions across nine venues will deliberate on 18 key thematic areas. The discussions are based on ideas consolidated from 34 seminars organised in 14 districts during October and November under the leadership of various departments.
Experts from national and international arenas will assess Kerala’s development initiatives and present their perspectives on the State’s future development pathway.
The concluding session will include a seminar on ‘Secularism, Democracy and a Responsive Government’, in which Farooq Abdullah, Prakash Karat, Kanimozhi, and Justice Shah, among others, are scheduled to participate.
Through the international conference, the State government aims to critically review Kerala’s developmental journey and formulate forward-looking goals, aligning future policies with the aspirations of a modern, inclusive and democratic society.
