Kerala aims for citizen-friendly digital governance

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 26 (UNI) The Kerala Government has launched the ‘Namukku Keralam – Digital Kerala Initiative’ aimed at strengthening digital governance and ensuring faster, citizen-friendly delivery of services.

A preliminary meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reviewed the project framework, which seeks to make government services more transparent and people-centric.

The initiative envisages a dedicated system to address public grievances and provide real-time updates on complaints. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other advanced technologies will be integrated to enhance service delivery, while a unified registry will be introduced to streamline the management of social security schemes.

The Government also plans to upgrade existing digital applications and bridge gaps in data exchange between departments. The project is structured around four key components – Sevana Keralam, to deliver all online services through a unified platform; Bhavi Keralam, to adopt emerging technologies in governance; Sadbharana Keralam, to promote digital good governance models; and Jana Keralam, to conduct state-wide awareness campaigns on online safety.

As part of the preparatory work, detailed discussions were held with e-governance nodal officers from major departments and leading service providers, officials said.
