Kejriwal visits flood relief camps in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal today visited flood relief camps in the Shastri Park area of Delhi to meet flood victims.

“Residents at the camps stated that there were no adequate arrangements for food, drinking water, or shelter, with many claiming they had been forced to sleep in the open during heavy rain until tents were set up just a day prior, on Thursday,” he said while addressing the media.

“Natural disasters cannot be prevented, but it is the government’s responsibility to ensure arrangements for the poor and other citizens,” Kejriwal noted. “I appeal to the Delhi administration to provide necessary facilities in the relief camps. These are our own people, citizens of India, and they too deserve urgent help.”

In a post on the social media platform X, Kejriwal reiterated his concerns about the lack of food and drinking water in the camps and the dire conditions faced by the displaced.

AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj also commented on the situation via social media, suggesting that residents were recalling the previous AAP government’s administration favourably. He claimed that despite the presence of a “four-engine BJP government,” people were suffering from a lack of facilities, and that the tents were only erected after a video by an AAP MLA highlighted the conditions.
